[Family didn't always mean best intentions. Alec was nobility, something he clearly hated and wanted to avoid association with. That didn't mean he hated his family, but that also didn't mean he trusted them.

These things kept his smile and tone pleasant but with some caution. He was no noble, he didn't know how to play this kind of game like Hawke would, but he knew how to lie and cheat and those things were close enough in the end.]


I'm sure. I can't imagine having family in a place like this. I also can't imagine it's easy talking to said family about a place like this. Is there something specific you were hoping to learn or ask?
